Corexar Home
A desktop app for a person or a family. One file, nothing else to install.

Install and start
tar -xzf corexar-home-linux-x64.tar.gzcd Corexar && ./Corexar- Open http://localhost:8080 (it opens by itself when a desktop browser is available).
- Create the first account — that is you.
Family and other devices
Open http://<this computer’s address>:8080 on a phone or another computer at home. Each person creates their own account. If port 8080 is busy, Corexar picks the next free one and tells you.
Your data
The database and files live in ~/.local/share/corexar. Copy that folder to back up or move to another computer.
Stopping
Use “Quit Corexar” in the top bar, on the computer where it runs. Starting the app again just reopens it in your browser.
Video
Videos always play. For adaptive streaming, install ffmpeg (or put it in a folder named ffmpeg next to the app).
What is free
- A household library: 1 workspace with any number of family accounts, up to 25 collections, 2,000 entries each and 5 GB of files.
- A Home license lifts the size limits for big libraries. Enter it under License in the top bar of the app.
- Home never unlocks encrypted collections or team features: those belong to the Server edition.
- It works fully offline. A license is checked only when a key is present.
