Edit a field, translate it

Rename a field, add options, define sub-fields, and give names in other languages.

Press Edit on a schema row to open the characteristic. A note at the top reminds you that it changes the field in the catalog, for every collection that uses it. Removing something that is already in use is blocked, so an option that some entry has chosen cannot disappear by accident.

Other languages

The Languages & Translations tab lets you give the field name, its description and each option in another language. Choose a language, type the text and press Save translations. People whose interface is in that language see your translation; everyone else sees the original. The same tab exists in collection settings for the collection’s name and description.

Tip. A translation changes only what is shown. The stored value never changes, so filters and exports keep working the same in every language.
