Hierarchy Tree & Bill of Materials (BOM)

Deeply nested component structures, quantity multiplication, and automatic field rollups.

The Tree block visualizes multi-tier hierarchies: product Bill of Materials (BOM), Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), and organizational decompositions.

Hierarchical Quantity Multiplication

Child links can specify unit quantities. The tree recursively multiplies quantities from the root down: if 1 server requires 2 motherboards and each motherboard requires 4 RAM modules, the total RAM requirement calculates as 8 units.

Automated Field Rollups

Numeric fields on child entries (costs, weights, person-hours, Story Points) sum upwards into parent nodes. Adjusting a part price at the leaf level immediately updates total unit cost at the assembly root.
